Hysteroscopy

A hysteroscopy is a surgical operation to look inside the cavity of the uterus. It is usually done under a general anaesthetic but can be done under local anaesthetic.

Reason to do Hysteroscopy –

  • Investigate abnormal periods e.g. heavy periods.
  • Remove polyps or fibroids by ultrasound
  • Look at thick endometriosis diagnosis by ultrasound prior to curette
