Providing women-centred pregnancy care is the ethos of Dr Lionel Steinberg’s practice.  Lionel will support the birth choices of each patient, while keeping mother and baby safe.

Lionel’s vast experience enables him to support all women experiencing high-risk pregnancies, and attain the safest outcomes.

Affectionately known by his patients and colleagues as ‘Vaginal Lionel’, Lionel’s focus is in empowering and supporting patients to achieve low-intervention, vaginal births, and low caesarean rates. If a caesarean section is desired, Lionel is fully supportive of the patient’s birth choice.

Lionel is particularly sought after to help women achieve a vaginal birth after a previous caesarean section (VBAC), and also naturally birth babies who are breech.

Private Obstetric care during your pregnancy provides continuity of medical care & 24 hours access to an experienced clinical practitioner. The decision to work with an Obstetrician during your pregnancy is often made in early pregnancy or following an initial G.P appointment (at which time getting a referral is encouraged).
